Re: SID and Java Instance ID related dilema during System Copy

Postby yatinbhatt » Mon May 25, 2009 2:05 pm

Ok,

What specific changes you did for J2EE to work so far ?

When you start configtool, do you get any error like unable to connect to the database ? Or any other error ?

thanks

Hi Yatin,

I am not able to log on to Config tool but I cannot use default DB settings. I have to change System Name from C7Q to CRQ to make it work, each and every time I connect configtool. I have made changes in all propoerties of Bootstrap properties, Instance properties, and all the entries in Configtool.

So, in a way I get an error while connecting but on the other hand if I change the System name then it works (it could be becaue the DB SID is still CRQ, could it?).

Shival,

You are confusing me ? Which property in configtool you are changing all the time ? Basically, when you have a different SAP<SID>DB in use than the one you copied from, you have to change the J2EE schema name in the JDBC properties in SecureStore and save the entries in configtool, that way it is permanently stored.

Also, when you start the j2ee instance with different properties, make sure you delete the files with extension "vmprop" which came from old server and then next startup they will be created again.

Also, please paste screen shot of configtool when are you are able to successfully pass the SecureStore login.

Thanks
