Hello,
I am in a dilema while stuck with an issue that may be some of you have come across at one point.
MS SQL 2005 and Win2k3
HISTORY:
There is a system PRD - Production. - SAP SID PRD - DB SID - PRD
There is a system QAS - Test - SAP SID QAS - DB SID - QAS
Now, trying to create another Test system - QA1, which is a copy of QAS - SAP SID QA1 and DB SID - QAS
Here, please note that DB SID is QAS because there was a DB Backup (with detach and Java export method) and I am trying to create a system QA1, using DB of QAS.
Now, there is a 'non-conventional' procedure that can be used by adding the schema in DB and move all tables to added schema. That would make the DB useful for QA1 after attaching, but the DB SID will still remain QAS.
I am able to get to the point where I got the ABAP stack up and running (please note: this is WITHOUT using SAPInst) by changing OS mappings and SIDs.
The questions I have is with Java stack. Java stack is still down primarily because of Instance ID that usually gets generated in a conventional SAPInst way. My system is dual stack and without Java the system cannot be considered as fully functional. So, I was wondering if anyone has come across this situation where I want to know how do I generate/configure Java instance ID, so that I can logon to Configtool and make any necessary changes.
I hope people doing system copies with MS SQL might have been exposed to the scenario above and could guide me on how to do get the system up and running with Java stack.
Any help is highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Shival
